Exhibitions
Exhibitions will make up a critical component of Woodfire Tasmania 2011.
The Woodfire Tasmania 2011 exhibition program will include:
Woodfired Tableware curated by Sandy Lockwood
Top of the South New Zealand Woodfire curated by Daryl Frost
Inside Woodfire - Australian Stories curated by Ben Richardson
Scandinavian Woodfire (a selection) curated by Gregory Hamilton Miller
Woodfired by Ian Jones and Moraig McKenna at Artisan Gallery, curated by Lisa Boyter
Atmos-fire curated by Gail Nichols
'Atmos-fire' will feature innovative work from a range of atmospheric firing techniques, including the use of fuels other than wood. These could include soda/salt vapour firing, saggar firing, raku, fuming and other processes from which atmospheric effects are clearly evident. The aim is to present a thought-provoking show, challenging and building on our understanding of a "wood-fired aesthetic". If you feel your work fits the criteria and would like to be considered for the exhibition, please contact Gail Nichols at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Send a brief statement about your work and firing technique, and a few typical images of your work.
